RAJOURI MAY 04:-In a tragic incident, a wall collapsed during a marriage ceremony in Dhani Dhar village, Rajouri, leaving at least 22 people injured. The house, identified as belonging to Mohd Adrees, son of the late Ghulam Mohd, resident of Khapa Khan, was the venue for the celebration when the mishap occurred.
Eyewitnesses report that the structure gave way suddenly amidst the gathering, causing panic and chaos. Among the injured are several women and children, many of whom sustained serious injuries.
All the injured were swiftly transported to the Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital in Rajouri, where they are currently receiving treatment. Hospital authorities have confirmed that two of the victims are in critical condition and have been provided with specialized care.
Two individuals — 16-year-old Anaya Kouser and 8-year-old Airam — have been referred to GMC Jammu for further treatment due to the severity of their injuries.
The injured have been identified as : Saima Akhtar W/O Mohd Khalil, Sartal Begum W/O Mohd Din (35 years), Ayan S/O Zulfiqar Ali, Sarish D/O Zulfiqar Ali, Zera Hayat D/O Mohd Alyas, Tazeem Akhtar W/O Munir Hussain (29 years), Shaheen Akhtar W/O Mohd Arif (32 years), Jameela Akhter W/O Mohd Maqsood (42 years), Mohd Zubair S/O Mehmood Ahmed (14 years), Mumtaz Begum W/O Mohd Rashid (47 years), Maryam Akhter W/O Mohd Khaliq (35 years), Muneeza Akhter W/O Mohd Naseer (39 years), Mumtaz Begum W/O Mohd Kallu (57 years), Anaya Kouser D/O Zaffer Iqbal (16 years) [Referred to GMC Jammu], Mairya Kouser W/O Imtiaz Ahmed (33 years), Qadir Hussain S/O Mohd Hussain (39 years), Airam D/O Mohd Imran (8 years) [Referred to GMC Jammu], Yasmeen Akhtar W/O Mohd Shafiq (42 years), Rehan Khan S/O Qadir Hussain (18 years) and Mumtaz Begum W/O Mohd .Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse, and rescue operations concluded late into the night. Local officials have assured that aid and assistance will be extended to the affected families.
