    RAJOURI, MARCH 07:– SVEEP Cell of District Election Office Rajouri, in collaboration with Govt PG College organised a cultural event as a part of SVEEP activities.

    Students participated in different activities like solo song, western solo song, photography, Rangoli competition. The winners of different activities were awarded with certificates and momentos.

    Under the guidance and supervision of District Election Officer Rajouri Om Parkash Bhagat, continuous efforts are being made to vigorously conduct the SVEEP activities across the district.

    The District Nodal officer for SVEEP activities, Prof Iqbal Raina has roped in all educational institutions and other organizations to educate the public about the importance of voters in a democracy.

    Today’s program was coordinated by Prof Zakir Kallis HoD English and Prof Mohd Iqbal Raina District Nodal officer SVEEP Govt PG College Rajouri.

    All faculty members and students enthusiastically participated in the event.

    RAJOURI, MARCH 07:–The District Administration Rajouri showcased unwavering commitment and enthusiasm as it actively participated in the public rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar.

    All nineteen blocks of the district and five Municipality offices also live streamed the Prime Minister’s speech with each location witnessing a huge gathering of locals.

    Among others, DC Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat; ADDC, Pawan Kumar Parihar; ACD, Vijay Kumar; ACP, Sheraz Chowhan; DPO, Mohd Nawaz Choudhury and other district and sectoral officers and officials participated in the event. Besides, the event also witnessed a substantial turnout of the public, reflecting the keen interest and enthusiasm of the local populace in the development initiatives being unveiled.

    RAJOURI MARCH 07:–Working out case of theft, police in Rajouri has arrested a notorious thief recovering stolen property over four lakh rupees from his possession.

    On 4th of March, a written application was lodged by one Khalid Hussain Shah son of Gulzar Hussain Shah resident of Kheora that he runs a well furnished service station at Bela colony under the name and style ‘Two Brothers Service Station Rajouri’.

    In the intervening night of 3rd and 4th March, some burglars broke open the front door of the service station and decamped with goods worth rupees four lakhs (which included grinders, polishing machines, car accessories etc).

    On receipt of this application FIR no 84/ 2024 U/Ss 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Rajouri and investigation set in motion.

    During investigation one suspect was zeroed in who during questioning admitted to the crime and on his disclosure all the stolen items were recovered.

    The accused has been identified as Raja Ather Hussain Mirza son of Mohib-ul – Hassan Mirza resident of Dhandkote Darhal in Rajouri.

    RAJOURI MARCH 07:–Being the only University in Pir Panjal Region, more than 2100 students from various schools of Rajouri & Poonch districts have visited Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri during the last more than 2 months.
    “The visits have been part of the educational tours organized by various schools. Apart from visiting the lush green lawns of the University campus, the visiting students experienced the academic life of the University through interactions with faculty members,” said BGSBU spokesman.
    Students especially visited the state-of-the-art laboratories of various departments of the University.
    During the interactions the students were made aware of the various teaching programs, research initiatives, and outreach activities of the University.
    “The visits to BGSBU by school students is a healthy trend towards familiarization of these students with the academic and research facilities of the University,” said Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor BGSBU.
    He mentioned that such visits will broaden the horizons of students and motivate them to pursue higher education.
    He further said that such an interaction will help the young school-going kids to get a first-hand experience of the activities happening at the highest seat of learning.
    Prof. Akbar stressed upon the need for such interactions and collaborations toward the fulfilment of the national goal of Viksit Bharat@2047.
    Prof. Akbar said that in the future as well the University will facilitate such visits for the benefit of students.
    It is pertinent to mention that apart from schools, students from different colleges have also been visiting the university campus for various academic and research purposes.

    RAJOURI, MARCH 07 :-– Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today flagged off a mega rally of students, fervently championing the cause of gender equality and saving girl child through the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme.

    The rally was organised by the Social Welfare Department. It started from the DC office and culminated at PWD Dakbunglow Rajouri. The event aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the girl child and underscore the significance of education in fostering a more equitable society.

    The BBBP scheme stands as a testament to the commitment of the Government to addressing gender discrimination and advancing women’s empowerment across the nation.

    The DC emphasized the multifaceted objectives of the BBBP scheme, which extends beyond education to challenge ingrained gender bias. The scheme seeks to catalyze a societal shift by fostering awareness about the inherent value of the girl child and promoting gender-neutral opportunities for growth and development.

    Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner drew attention to the comprehensive approach of the scheme in improving the efficacy of welfare services for girls. By creating a supportive environment and dismantling systemic barriers, the BBBP initiative strives to ensure that every girl has access to education, healthcare, and opportunities for a brighter future.

    The mega rally, comprising enthusiastic students, echoed the collective call for societal transformation. The vibrant display of banners, slogans, and the palpable energy of the participants conveyed a unified commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable future for the girl child in Rajouri and beyond.
