RAJOURI MARCH 07:–Being the only University in Pir Panjal Region, more than 2100 students from various schools of Rajouri & Poonch districts have visited Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri during the last more than 2 months.
“The visits have been part of the educational tours organized by various schools. Apart from visiting the lush green lawns of the University campus, the visiting students experienced the academic life of the University through interactions with faculty members,” said BGSBU spokesman.
Students especially visited the state-of-the-art laboratories of various departments of the University.
During the interactions the students were made aware of the various teaching programs, research initiatives, and outreach activities of the University.
“The visits to BGSBU by school students is a healthy trend towards familiarization of these students with the academic and research facilities of the University,” said Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor BGSBU.
He mentioned that such visits will broaden the horizons of students and motivate them to pursue higher education.
He further said that such an interaction will help the young school-going kids to get a first-hand experience of the activities happening at the highest seat of learning.
Prof. Akbar stressed upon the need for such interactions and collaborations toward the fulfilment of the national goal of Viksit Bharat@2047.
Prof. Akbar said that in the future as well the University will facilitate such visits for the benefit of students.
It is pertinent to mention that apart from schools, students from different colleges have also been visiting the university campus for various academic and research purposes.
