RAJOURI: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Association (JKPA) strongly condemned the selective anti-encroachment drive against minority Gujjar Muslim community in Jammu which is facing harassment amid pandemic.

In a statement, Vice-Chairman JKPA Rayees Chowdhary said that “Since last few years properties of Gujjars are being destroyed by JDA in pretext of anti-encroachment drive while thousands kanals of land is under illegal occupation of big fishes against whom no action is taken.” He further said that “Instead of coming up with permanent settlement policy for Gujjars, govt is rendering them homeless and ruling party leaders are showing them colourful dreams of flats and other facilities which is very shameful.” Rayees also questioned the stand of BJP leaders from Gujjar community who have used this community as vote bank for achieving power but remain mute when Gujjars face atrocities against them because of their religion.

While talking to media Shakeel Mir Said that each and every step regarding the restrictions is taken in the greater interest of comman public and public must co-operate in order to prevent the spreading of deadly Covid 19.
While talking to the locals, members of beoparmandal and general public the President MC said that people must abide by the time to time advisories of administration and Govt. so that necessary precautions are taken against the Pandemic Virus. speaking on the occasion Tehsildar Thana Mandi Mehmood Khan highlighted that public must avoid unnecessary movement and travel and should also avoid gatherings. He further emphasized that Tehsil Administration has already established a dedicated Covid Control Room in Tehsil Office and Public can contact in case of any emergency.

Rajouri, July, 21:- All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF) Spokesperson, Nakul Sharma strongly opposes the income slab of 8 lacs rupees slapped over Pahari Speaking People and demanded immediate retract of the income slab.

Mr. Nakul Sharma, Spokesperson, AJKYF while issuing press statement said that people belonging to Pahari Community are always deprived of their basic rights and now after a ton of struggle when they got reservation of just 4% over the population of approx 15 lacs across the downgraded state of Jammu and Kashmir, imposing income slab on the community is unfair and injustice.

Mr. Sharma questioned the central government that where other reservation categories are not bounded by any income slab why pahari community is preyed? “Reservation to the pahari community was meant to be based on pahari ethnicity and not over income bar” he added.

AJKYF Spokesperson urged upon the central government and Union Territory administration to roll back the income slab slapped over the Pahari Speaking People and also demanded enhancement of reservation of pahari community as per the population across the region.

Rajouri,July,21:The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,Mohammad Nazir Sheikh along with a team of the officers of the district administration on Tuesday paid a visit to the MCH Old District Hospital Rajouri which has been converted into CCC and reviewed the arrangements being put in place for the convenience of the COVID positive patients to be brought in the centre.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by District Statistical and Evaluation Officer,Bilal Rashid Mir,Deputy Chief Medical Officer,Anees Altaf Nabi, Executive Engineer PHE Rajouri,Mushtaq Ahmed,Assistant Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri,Server Mehmood,Assistant Executive Engineer PDD Rajouri,Mohd Jamshed,Assistant Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri and Executive Officer Municipality Rajouri,Mushtaq Hussain.

Speaking on the occasion,the Deputy Commissioner said that COVID-19 pandemic is the defining global health crisis and is one of the greatest challenges of mankind as it has the potential to create devastating social, economic and political effects.

He added that with the spike in the number of COVID19 cases in the district,the dire need of the hour is to augment the medical facilities to ensure the efficient management of COVID19 pandemic in the district and the district administration is making concerted efforts in this direction to ensure the safety of its citizens.

He directed the concerned officers to put in place all the logistic arrangements in terms of uninterrupted water,power supply,food and other essentials for the convenience of the persons to be brought in this centre.

The Deputy Commissioner urged upon the staff deployed at the centre to work with utmost dedication and make added efforts to ensure that all the basic facilities are made available to the persons to be quarantined in the centre so that they don’t feel any inconvenience during their temporary stay at these centres.
