Rajouri August 03:–With 19 more new positive cases of novel Coronavirus, the highest in Jammu Province, reported today in Rajouri district the positivity rate has raised to 0.69% from 0.47% on Monday.
With the death of an aged woman in GMC hospital at Rajouri, the death tally has reached 226, second highest in Jammu Province after Jammu district with 1139 deaths.
According to the district media bulletin, 2759 tests (RT-PCR & RAT)were conducted today in the district out of which 19 cases were found active positive.
The overall positivity rate in the district is 2.33%, while the recovery rate is 97.36% .
Out of 10957 positive cases reported in the district during the second wave, 10668 have recovered and 226 have died.
Out of 7084 active, positive cases detected in the district during the second wave 63 are still active out of which 16 are in the home isolation, 27 in Panchayat ICCCs & 20 in hospital isolation, including 7 in GMC Rajouri, 6 in the Arm hospital and 5 in the hospitals out of the district.
Despite enforcement teams urging the people to wear face masks, maintain physical distance besides taking Covid vaccination doses at their nearest CVC, the people violating the Covid-19 SOPs with impunity which leads to an increase in positive cases.
It has been noticed that most of the people roaming in the markets without wearing masks, not maintaining social distancing and no authorised official/officer bother to take action against the violators.
