Rajouri, May, 22 GNS:–The elevator at district hospital Rajouri has been lying defunct for over ten years now, making patients and their attendants suffer.
10 years it was just inaugurated but never made functions. The elevator was aimed at providing a facility to the ailing and disabled patients, who are not comfortable in using stairs. But, since the elevator has been non-functional, it is not serving its purpose.
“After spending lakhs of rupees, it seems like it was all for some publicity. Since the patients are not getting benefitted, it is all a waste to the state exchequer,” a visitor to the hospital said.
A patient said, “The infrastructure of the hospital was upgraded and we had hoped that the elevator would help the patients and their attendants, but all in vain.”
Another patient said, Digital X Ray and CT Scan are non functional which create problems for the patients, they use other facilities out of hospital for their X Ray and CT Scan.
