POONCH AUGUST 07:-Ahead of the launch of the Mendhar Jodo Yatra, slated to begin from 16th August, Additional Spokesperson and Youth Leader of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, Zeeshan Rana, conducted an extensive tour of Mendhar today, visiting Salwah, Chappar, and Dhara to mobilize public support and awareness about the upcoming Yatra.
During his outreach, Zeeshan Rana visited Government Middle School Khorbani Salwah, where he was informed about the alarming condition of the school infrastructure. The school, which currently caters to over 80 students, is functioning without a proper roof, exposing children to harsh weather and posing serious risks to their safety and education.
Deeply concerned, Zeeshan Rana took up the matter with the concerned authorities and urgently appealed to Hon’ble Minister for Forests, Jal Shakti, and Tribal Affairs, Shri Javed Ahmed Rana, to initiate immediate steps for the construction of a new building for the school.
Speaking to the media, Zeeshan Rana emphasized, “It is unacceptable that in this day and age, our children are forced to study under the open sky. Quality education and adequate health care are not luxuries but the fundamental rights of every child. Their future is the future of our nation.”
He reiterated the National Conference’s commitment to strengthening educational and healthcare infrastructure in remote and tribal areas of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Mendhar Jodo Yatra, aimed at promoting unity, development, and outreach, is expected to witness massive participation from all sections of society. Rana’s visit today not only laid the groundwork for the Yatra but also highlighted the pressing issues that need immediate attention from the administration.
