POONCH DECM, 12:-The Department of Youth Services & Sports (YSS), District Poonch, today successfully organised Girls’ Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Badminton competitions across various schools as part of the ongoing Fit India campaign. The events were conducted under the Sports/Non-Sports Activity Calendar 2025–26, aiming to promote physical fitness, discipline and sportsmanship among young students.
The initiative was held under the visionary leadership of Smt. Anuradha Gupta (JKAS), Director General YSS J&K, whose continued efforts are focused on strengthening sports culture and youth empowerment across the Union Territory.
The programme received strategic guidance from Smt. Vinakshi Koul (JKAS), Joint Director YSS Jammu, and Ms. Megha Baogia, Deputy Director Activities, both of whom have played a key role in promoting outdoor education and youth engagement through various district-level and UT-wide initiatives.
Overall supervision of the district activities was carried out by DYSSO Poonch, Mr. Mohd Qasim, ensuring effective coordination, proper planning, and adherence to safety protocols throughout the events.
On-ground execution and technical supervision were provided by PEMs, PELs, PETs, and REK Physical Education Teachers, who ensured fair, disciplined, and well-organized conduct of all competitions.
The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting the growing spirit of sportsmanship and fitness awareness across the district.
