RAJOURI MAR 12:– A group of youths from District Rajouri staged a protest today in front of the 156 Territorial Army Battalion (TA BN) Headquarters at Palma Gate, alleging unfair recruitment practices. The protestors claim that the selection process for the recent recruitment drive, held in Surankote on January 11, 2025, and the subsequent written test conducted in Palma from February 11 to February 15, 2025, was marred by irregularities.
According to the protestors, several high-scoring candidates were ignored in favor of lower-merit applicants, raising concerns about transparency in the selection process. In response to these grievances, the group has reportedly obtained a stay order from the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in Jammu, which they intend to present to the recruitment staff.
The demonstration, involving around 30-35 individuals, is being led by Mohd Sageer, son of the late Mohd Iqbal from Muradpur, and Anayat Chowdhury, son of Mohd Rafiq from Dhanour, Rajouri.
Despite the growing assembly, the situation remains peaceful so far, with no reports of any disturbances. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure law and order are maintained.
