Women cell/ICC constituted in BGSBU on International Women Day

RAJOURI MARCH 08:- On the occasion of International Women’s Day Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice- Chancellor has created Women Cell and also established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to redress the complaints received from women associated with Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU).


“BGSBU administration is sincere about the safety of its women folk and any aggrieved woman can approach the cell/ICC members to get the grievances redressed. The proceedings shall be kept strictly confidential,” said Prof Akbar Masood, VC.


In a message, Prof Masood said that every year international community observes International Women’s Day with an aim to promote peace with women’s rights.


He said this year’s theme of International Women’s Day is ‘Choose to Challenge’. It aims to call our gender inequality and celebrate women’s achievements & seeks to spread awareness about the importance of choice.
He added Aung San Suu Kyi (presently ousted Myanmar civilian leader) has said: “You should never let your fears prevent you from doing what you know is right.”.


BGSBU celebrated International Women’s Day today.


“This day marks the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women in different fields of life. Identifying, celebrating and increasing visibility of women’s achievements can help forge gender equality,” said Prof Akbar Masood, VC.
While highlighting the role of women during Covid-19 pandemic, Prof. Akbar paid rich tributes to the women who stand at the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis, as health care workers, community organizers and as some of the most exemplary leaders in combating the pandemic.He congratulated the female employees and students of the University on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
