WEBINAR ON NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020 organised jointly by 2J&K NCC Bn, GGM SCIENCE COLLEGE & MAM PG COLLEGE, JAMMU

Mandi,/Poonch october 14 :–A webinar on New Education Policy 2020 was organised jointly by NCC UNITS of GGM Science College, Govt. MAM PG College and 2 J&K Boys Bn NCC, Jammu today on 14-10-2020 (Wednesday) from11am to 1pm on Google Meet. The programme was started by Major (Dr.) Karan Singh with a brief introduction about NEW EDUCATION POLICY 2020.

Dr. Shamim Ahmed Banday (Sr.Assistant Professor, GDC POONCH) an Internationally acclaimed speaker delivered the invited talk. He was introduced by Dr. Fraz Ahmed, ANO of GGM SCIENCE COLLEGE. Dr. Banday deliberated extensively on NEP 2020. Pertinent points to mention included: NEP 2020 was approved by Union Cabinet of India on 29th of July, 2020. The need of introducing this education policy is to make India a global knowledge power with a focus on the importance of students’ practical knowledge and foundational literacy. Moreover, this policy has been formulated to promote education amongst people of rural and urban areas.

Others who spoke on the event included Dr. Nalini Pathania, HoD English; Prof. Bilal Ahmed, Department of Psychology; Dr. Muddasir Ahmed Tantray, Department of Philosophy & Dr. Farooq Ahmed Dar, Department of Chemistry. Cadets were also given opportunity to speak on this occasion. Cadet Sangam Nagra, Cadet Ankush Sharma from GGM Science College; Cadet Ayush from MAM College, Jammu delivered speeches on NEP 2020.

The program was organised under the patronage of Dr. Ravender Tickoo (Nodal Principal, GGM SCIENCE COLLEGE), and Dr. G.S Rakhwal (Principal, MAM PG COLLEGE).

Col. J.S Kataria , Commanding Officer of 2nd JK Boys Bn was the Special Guest for the event. He appreciated the efforts of the ANOs and Cadets for conducting such a successful webinar. He advised the ANOs to conduct more such webinars in future.

The function was convened by Dr. Fraz Ahmed, ANO GGM Science College Jammu.

Prof. Namita Jamwal, Deptt. of Computer Science and Prof Inam Ahmed Wani, Department of Pysics was technical co-ordinator of the webinar.

A large number of cadets and ANOs attended the webinar.
