Unscheduled power cuts/water shortage during Ramzan irks Rajouri.

RAJOURI, APRIL 21:-
— Inhabitants of the Rajouri district, especially of Budhal, Kotranka, Darhal, Thanamandi & Rajouri town,, have expressed their resentment over unscheduled and prolonged power cuts and a shortage of safe drinking water during the ongoing month of Ramzan.
People have castigated the administration for failing to live up to their claims of providing undisrupted basic services.
People in remote areas and also inhabitants of Rajouri town are complaining of curtailment in electricity at peak hours of Ramzan.
“From the first day of the holy month, the electricity went off frequently during Sehri & Iftar, which is creating a lot of difficulties for the people” alleged people.
Meanwhile, Islamic Welfare Organisation (IWO) Rajouri in a statement issued on Thursday alleged a shortage of electricity and water in the pious month of Ramzan.
Shafqat Mir, President IWO lambasted the State Administration for a lackadaisical approach in solving the issues of basic amenities.
On March, 31, Vikas Kundal while discussing the arrangements for Ramzan with the concerned officers/officials had directed the Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti & the Power Development Department to keep the field staff ready to attend to the public grievances.
“Claims of the administration have been exposed as the people are facing acute shortage of electricity & water. The administration should immediately take remedial steps to solve the issues of electricity & water so that the people may not suffer” said Shafqat Mir.
Inhabitants of Budhal, including Tafail Chouwan, on social media platform WhatsApp have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner for restoration of power supply at the earliest.
