RAJOURI FEBRUARY  29:–Two minor girls received severe injuries on their fingers when they inadvertently were fiddling with an explosive substance reportedly brought by some children from a house of an aged person in Doongi Brahmna village under Rajouri police station on Tuesday evening.
Sources said both the minor girls, identified as Tasvir Kousar (10) d/o Mohd Razak and Saima Kousar (15) d/o Mohd Mushtaq, residents of Doongi Brahmna Ghai, were on way to their home from school when the incident happened.
The incident has created a panic in the entire area. Both the girls were rushed to a nearby health facility from where, after initial treatment, both were referred to Associated Hospital Government Medical College (AH GMC) for specialised treatment.
The injured girls have been provided immediate medication and their condition is stable and are out of danger. Both have received injuries in the fingers allegedly due to low intensity explosion.
Immediately after the incident was reported, security forces rushed to the village and laid cordon and started searching for suspected anti-national elements.
Initially, it was said that injuries occurred due to bursting of a firecracker, however, intelligence agencies have not ruled it out as a terror incident.
The police and other intelligence agencies worked on whether the unidentified explosive substance was a firecracker, or it was a low intensity crude bomb.
Police are also questioning some suspects and anti-social elements of the area.
Meanwhile, according to a news agency, during an ongoing search of the area, Security Forces have recovered 25 detonators, but no arrest has been made yet.
