Two Drug Peddlers Arrested by Rajouri Police with Heroin like Narcotic and Contraband Substances

RAJOURI JUNE 20:-In a continued effort to combat drug menace in District Rajouri, Police achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending two drug peddlers in separate incidents in *Thanamandi and Rajouri Town* recovering contraband substances including heroin like substance, tapentadol tablets and tramadol injections.

CASE 1:–During a Naka checking at Upper Thanamandi Bridge a police party from Police Station Thanamandi led by SHO Thanamandi apprehended one individual who was moving suspiciously. On searching the individual identified as Javaid Iqbal S/O Mohd Taj resident of Khablan Thanamandi the police party recovered 10.27 grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession.

In this regard a case FIR No. 84/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thanamandi and investigation is ongoing.

Case 2 :–In a separate incident a police party from Police Station Rajouri led by SHO Rajouri was on routine patrolling in the Jawahar Nagar area when they noticed a person trying to evade the patrolling team. The person was promptly apprehended. During questioning he identified himself as *Mohd Irfan S/O Hussain Mohd resident of Badhoon Bindi Rajouri.*

During personal search of individual led to the recovery of a black polythene bag containing a total 230 tablets of Tapentadol and 04 Tramadol injections.

In this regard a case FIR No. 321/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri. Further investigation is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the drug
