Timely intervention of District Administration Kishtwar successfully airlifted injured patient from snow bound Kither Bunjwah to GMC Doda

BUNJWAH JANUARY 30:- In a remarkable demonstration of effective teamwork and unwavering commitment to public safety, the Civil Administration today airlifted an injured patient from the challenging and remote area of Kither in Bunjwah.

Under the proficient leadership of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma, JKAS, and Tehsildar Bunjwah Tejinder Sharma, JKAS, the District Administration of Kishtwar swiftly mobilised resources in response to a critical emergency. The incident unfolded when Mir Hussain fell from the rooftop of his three-story house. The severe weather not only obstructed the route but also led to a catastrophic accident, leaving him with serious injuries. The administration’s prompt action was crucial in ensuring his safe evacuation and access to immediate medical care at the Ayush Sub Centre in Kither.

Residents, including Saddam Hussain, an Aapda Mitra volunteer, facilitated the safe landing of the helicopter by clearing 2 to 3 feet of snow from the ground at High School Kither.

Recognising the gravity of the situation, the District Administration Kishtwar swiftly organised a rescue operation to airlift the patient to GMC Doda for further medical care. Their coordinated efforts led to the rapid arrangement of a helicopter landing in record time, underscoring their dedication to the community’s welfare and emergency management.

With great urgency and professionalism, locals successfully evacuated Mir Hussain, carefully stabilising his condition for transportation. He was promptly airlifted to the Government Medical College in Doda, where he could receive the critical medical attention required for his injuries.

Shafqat Sheikh praised the efforts of the District Administration Kishtwar, Tehsildar Bunjwah, and the Indian Army 26 RR Company Patnazi, Incharge Police Post Jawalapur Abhishek Sharma, whose timely intervention helped save a precious life and exemplified the spirit of humanity. He also commended the efforts of Uzair Talib, Personal Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, for making the airlift possible.
