RAJOURI JAN 08:-A significant drug bust was carried out by the Police Party from Police Post Lamberi, under the leadership of I/C PP, and under the close supervision of SHO Nowshera, while performing routine Naka duty on National Highway (NHW) in Lamberi.
The police signaled a vehicle, bearing registration number PB01C-0866, traveling from Jammu towards Rajouri, to stop for a routine check. Upon stopping the vehicle, the police discovered three individuals, including the driver. During a subsequent personal search, 40 grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance was seized from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Nadeem Iqbal, son of Nazir Hussain, resident of Mendhar Poonch; Mohammad Ayaz Khan, son of Mohammad Hanief Khan, from Mendhar; and Mohammad Banaras Khan, son of Shabir Hussain, a resident of Mendhar.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 04/2025, Section 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at the Police Station Nowshera. Authorities have confirmed that further investigations are underway to uncover both the backward and forward linkages in this drug trafficking operation.
Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and assist in efforts to combat the drug menace.
