RAJOURI MAY 12:–Aimed towards strengthening public contact efforts and to resolve the grievances of masses on a single platform, Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri held multiple events in the district.
In Rajouri, Thana Diwas event was organised with Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Mohammad Aslam chaired it alongwith SHO Rajouri Fareed Ahmed and other officers.
A large no of prominent citizens including BDC Chairman Qila Darhal, Adv. Khaliq Firdous,Sarpanches, Panches, councilors and respectables participated in the meeting.
Participants highlighted their grievances and demands which were carefully noted and disposed on spot.
Prominents were requested to extend their cooperation to police for eradication of social evils especially drug menace.
Another Thana Diwas event was organised at Manjakote police station which was chaired by Additional SP Rajouri Vivek Shekhar Sharma and
SDPO Manjakote Shamsher Singh , I/C SHO Manjakote Abdul Razaq and PSI Shajad Ali along with other police officers were present.
In the program the general public, respectable citizens and representatives of public of police sub division Manjakote participated.
At the start of the meeting, Additional SP awared
Public to keep a watch over their wards and beware of spread of drugs.
Additional SP HQrs Rajouri advised the public of the area to be aware of bank frauds, lottery frauds, internet scams, avoid uploading the objectionable photographs of others on social sites.
He also gave a patient hearing to the public grievances and redressed their genuine issues on the spot.
Later another separate meeting was held with Sarpanches, village headmen and Chowkidars.
At SDPO level dysp Imtiaz Ahmed and SHO Thanamandi ins Shoket organised Thana Diwas at police station Thanamandi. They sincerely addressed the public grievances and also awared prominents regarding social evils and emerging challenges. The participants were requested to extend cooperation regarding actionable information for the spread of drugs, terrorism and bovine smuggling. This is reiterated for overall peace and security of the area.
It was also stressed to the prominents to discourage the practice of counter FIRs.
Similarly, another Thana Diwas event was organized by Police Station Nowshera at Police Post Lamberi.
Programme was chaired by SDPO Nowshera Tusif Rishu, SHO PS Nowshera Rajesh Jasrotia besides IC PP Lamberi Arun Singh and other officers and officials.
The meeting was attended by Sarpanches, Panchs and members of Civil Society and beopar mandal .
On the occasion, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances would be addressed.
While speaking on the occasion, it was also reiterated that matter relating to drugs, illegal mining, overcharging of rates by stone crushers and other social issues will be taken seriously and policing at grassroot level in the district would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people.
Chairing officer while speaking on the occasion, said that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public.
The participants were requested to cooperate with Police in maintaining law and order in the area and identifying anti-national and anti-social elements who are hell bent to disrupt the peaceful environment. Participants expressed their appreciation for organizing Thana Divas.
