Terrorist launch pads activated again, about 300 terrorists camping near LoC, DGP.

While briefing the media persons at District Police Line (DPL) at Rajouri, Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police (DGP) claimed that as per their information 57 local youths who went to Pakistan/PoJK on valid tourist and student visas have been trained for militancy-related activities and about 17 are still active in Pakistan.
“These youths traveled to Pakistan/PoJK on valid visa documents during 2017-18, but 30 returned back via LoC after joining militancy. Forces so far have killed 17 while 13 are still active (in J&K and are under constant police surveillance)” said DGP.
The DGP said after the February ceasefire agreement, there was a decline in the infiltration attempts, but now terrorist’s launching pads have been made operational again.

“Attempts are on to push terrorists from across the border. 250 to 300 trained terrorists are waiting in the launch pads to be pushed to this side . Four new groups have also entered in this area,” said DGP.
He added one group was eliminated in Dadal area in Sunderbani sector, another in Nowshera sector, while the search & destroy operation is still on in Panghai village in Thanamandi area where two militants have been killed and a few are still hiding and the fourth group is either hiding in the area (Rajouri & Poonch districts) or have crossed to Shopian in Kashmir.

“Security Forces have strengthened the anti-infiltration grid after reports of the presence of terrorists near the border to foil infiltration attempts.
One among killed has been identified and claimed by a family (from Shopian) and family’s samples have been collected for DNA matching. Identified as Ramees Ahmed Tantray had gone to Pakistan in 2018 on a valid Indian Passport. The identity of the second is yet to be established, however, he could be a Pakistani national.
On Hawala network, Dilbag Singh, DGP said: “Efforts are on to curtail Hawala funding channels meant for financing terrorists’ activities. Recently NIA has raided several locations in Jammu and Kashmir provinces for Last year Rs1.5 crore were recovered in the Kupwara district.
