JAMMU MAY 17:–Er. Deep Raj, Project Director of Jammu and Kashmir Samagra Shiksha*, virtually launched TALAASH survey, to identify the Out of School Children in the UT. *On the directions of Bishwajit Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary School Education Department*, Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, J&K has rolled out a mobile app for mapping of “out-of-school children (OoSC)” by conducting a door to door survey by covering all the habitations and households within the UT of J&K.
While interacting, Project Director, said that, TALAASH App is aimed at identifying tracking and monitoring of out of school children (OoSC) of 6 to 18 years of age. The App can be used on smartphones by teachers, Head of the Institutions (HoIs) and others for mapping/survey. TALAASH will help surveyors in identifying and enrolling such children in the schools of nearby habitations, he said. *For conducting TALAASH survey in 188 zone and 20 Districts of J&K UT around 23317 surveyors have already been trained, Deep Raj told.*
He also said that, Department is putting all efforts to keep track of OoSC in a timely manner through intensive data analysis and monitoring. *He also informed that, during the recent drive, 167000 Students have been enrolled in various classes, with the joint efforts of Directorate of School Education Jammu and Kashmir.
*While reiterating the importance of Talaash Survey, Project Director Samagra Shiksha Er. Deep Raj issued directions* to all the Chief Educations officers and Principal DIETs regarding the completion of TALAASH survey *by 31st of May 2022*, so that these children can be provided with special training and can be enrolled in age appropriate class to continue their studies.
During this virtual launching session of TALAASH survey, all the Chief Education Officers, a Principal DIETs and all other stake holders assured to complete the survey within the given time.
Besides, others Programme Coordinators, *Ajeet Sharma State Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha,* also interacted with the concerned district teams. Team of Samagra Shiksha including, Assistant Coordinators, Syed Fayaz Ahmad, Mudhasser Ahmad Wani, programmer Sunita, Assistant Programmer, Vikas, Teacher Samer Jameel and Computer Assistant, Sheikh shuhail also attened the TALAASH launching session.
