RAJOURI, JUNE 17:–To mobilize public support towards the eradication of Child Labour in society, Social Welfare Department (SWD) on Friday conducted a signature campaign here at Rajouri as part of a weeklong child labour elimination drive.
A weeklong child labour elimination drive was launched by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to mark World Day against Child Labour.
The theme for 2022 World Day Against Child Labour was ‘Universal Social Protection to End Child Labour’ which was celebrated on June 12. It calls for investments in social safety nets and programs to protect children from being forced into child labour.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal launched the signature campaign. Through the campaign, the Deputy Commissioner urged the general public to send their children to school and not for work.
District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat said that the campaign aims to inform communities about the negative consequences of child labour and seek the support of the Civil Society for its eradication.
Highlighting the need for community participation, Wakeel Bhat appealed to the public to participate in the Government’s efforts to eradicate child labour in the district.
A number of activities are being organised in the district as a part of the weeklong campaign against Child Labour.
