Rajouri July 19:–As was expected more & more contacts of already positive Covid-19 cases becoming active cases day by day in Rajouri district, which is an alarming signal.
Out of 39 persons tested positive on Saturday, 32 belong to Rajouri town and its adjoining areas includingT two employees in a prominent Chemist shop.
To break the chain administration under the overall supervision of Mohd Nazir Sheikh, District Magistrate and DDMA declared Ward Nos. 1,2,4,5 of Fatehpur Panchayat (Rural area) and Ward Nos.7,11,12 & 17 Lamberi lower block (in Nowshera) containment/red zones
Jawahar Nagar, Ward No.10 , Madina colony and Kheora areas (Under Rajouri Municipal limit .Phalni, Kewal Lower /Upper (in Kotranka) Nowshera town , Sunderbani town etc are already declared red zones for aggressive tracking, tracing and testing of the infected/suspected persons.
“People are advised not to get panicky. Spike in positive /active cases is a result of aggressive testing which is the only way to clear affected areas” said Th Sher Singh, Additional DM.
He advised the people to wear masks, keep distance, follow SOPs/advisories and stay safe at homes.
As was earlier reported three persons after coming from Srinagar (red zone) misguided the officials at Rajouri about their history and after sampling left for their homes at Broh (Kalakot) Draj (Budhal) and Rajouri town. July 2 all the three were tested positive but before that they had met several people including family members, relatives & friends and become a source of spike in Covid-19 cases.
All the health employees at CHC Kandi have been advised for sampling after a woman health worker was tested (of a positive.
Frontline warriors including doctors /paramedics by putting their lives at risk, on Saturday have collected record 779 samples at GMC&AH and 242 at Draj in Kandi health block.
