Soldier killed, 7 others including 3 soldiers injured in 2 accidents in Rajouri

RAJOURI SEPT 17:–In two separate accidents on Jammu-Poonch highway in the late evening hours on Tuesday (September 17) in Rajouri district a soldier
Lance Naik was killed while 5 others were injured, including three soldiers & two brothers.
The injured soldiers have been brought to Army hospital at Rajouri from Manjakot while two siblings are admitted in Associated Hospital Government Medical College (AH GMC) at Rajouri and are stable.
Sources said that an armed Special Force Unit vehicle was on its way from Bhimber Gali (BG) side to Manjakote side.
Reportedly four Special Force Commandos, including driver, were travelling in the vehicle when the driver lost control over it on a sharp Mirza Mor (curve) at about 7.30 pm, under Manajakote police station jurisdiction, and it rolled down into about 300 feet deep gorge.
Sources added, initially locals rushed to the accident site and also informed the police and in the nearby army camp.
A police team headed by SHO Manpreet Singh rushed to the accident site and helped the army in the rescue of the injured soldiers.
The killed soldier reportedly identified as Baljeet Singh.

In the second road mishap two siblings going home in Chattiyar village from Rajouri were injured when their motorcycle skidded on the highway due to potholes and stones dumping on under construction highway by the construction company.
The injured siblings have been identified as Raghuvir Singh (50) and Kamal Singh (45) sons of Kalyan Singh residents of Chatiyar.
Inhabitants of the area also held a protest against the construction company for slow progress in the construction of the highway and dumping of construction and waste material on the highway.
Hospital authorities said that both the siblings are stable and responding to treatment.
