SMVD Medical College Derecognition Alarming If Based on Religion: MLA Budhal Javed Iqbal Choudhary

RAJOURI JAN, 07:-MLA Budhal Javed Iqbal Choudhary, in a strongly worded Facebook post, has condemned the reported derecognition of SMVD Medical College, terming it a “dangerous and shameful reality” if the action has been taken merely because Muslim students were selected on merit.

The MLA stated that when merit becomes unacceptable, the country must seriously introspect about the direction it is moving in. He warned that such injustices not only erode constitutional values but also risk pushing India towards isolation in the global community.

Taking a sharp swipe at Muslim leaders associated with the BJP, Choudhary said it was unfortunate that those who can stage protests over the transfer of a single VLW remain silent on such a serious injustice. “This silence is not silence alone; it reflects insensitivity and amounts to participation in injustice,” he wrote.

Choudhary called for accountability and fairness, stressing that educational institutions and students must never be targeted on the basis of religion, and that merit should remain the only standard in education and public life.
