SKUAST-K Organises One-Week EDP on Innovative Agri-Business Models at Wadura

SRINAGAR FEBRUARY 10:-The Division of Agriculture Extension & Communication, Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura, SKUAST-Kashmir, organised a One-Week Entrepreneurship/Enterprise Management Development Programme (EDP) on the theme “Innovative Agri-Business Models for Rural Youth: Linking Extension, Technology & MSME Opportunities”. The programme was sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME).

The event was graced by the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Mir, who attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, Prof. Mir underscored the growing importance of agri-entrepreneurship and encouraged rural youth to adopt innovative, technology-driven agri-business models to ensure sustainable livelihoods and rural prosperity.

The Cluster Head, J&K Bank, attended the programme as Guest of Honour and apprised participants of various financial schemes, credit facilities, and institutional support mechanisms available for agri-entrepreneurs and MSMEs, emphasizing the role of banking institutions in promoting entrepreneurship.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Syed Shafat Kubrevi. During the training sessions, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Associate Professor; Dr. Shujaat Hussain Bhat, Assistant Professor; Dr. Qadri Javeed Ahmad Peer, Assistant Professor; and Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Shah, Assistant Professor, shared valuable insights and expert inputs related to different course modules, significantly enriching the learning experience of the participants.

The week-long programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from rural youth, students, and aspiring entrepreneurs. The sessions focused on capacity building, fostering innovation, and strengthening extension–technology–MSME linkages for holistic rural development.
