SKUAST-K, FOA launched Mega Plantation Drive

SOPORE APRIL 05:–The Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-K today kick-started Mega Plantation drive under the banner of Nature and Adventure club in collaboration with NSS unit of the faculty in which more than 100 students from UG participated as NSS volunteers. The event was inaugurated with the planting of ornamental chinar near the administrative block of the faculty by Prof. M. N. Khan (Director Education, SKUAST-K) along with Dean Students Welfare, Prof. M. A. A. Siddique and Dean, FoA, Wadura, Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth. Before the start of plantation drive, Prof. M. A. A. Siddique addressed the volunteers and encouraged them to be the brand ambassadors of green and clean campus mission. Prof. M. A. A. Siddique also praised the efforts of faculty administration and club secretaries for taking lead in organizing such events. Other senior faculty members including all HODs of the faculty also joined the volunteers in the plantation drive. The event was coordinated by Club secretaries (Nature and Adventure Club) Mr. Mohd Salim Mir (PhD Scholar, Agronomy) and Mr. Fazil Fayaz Wani (PhD Scholar, Plant Pathology) under the guidance of Students Welfare Officer, FOA, Dr. Ajaz A Qureshi. The drive was successfully concluded and the volunteers were praised by the worthy Dean and other senior faculty members.
