Shocking trend, death toll reach 127 second highest after Jammu district.

RAJOURI MAY 16 :–In a shocking trend the death toll due to Coronavirus mounting with every coming day and after Jammu district (818) Rajouri has recorded 126 deaths since Covid-19 hit the district in the month of March last year.
Even the number of active cases in the district has reached 4533 the highest after Jammu district (7915) in Jammu province.
Despite strict restrictions under Covid Curfew the cases are on an increasing trend in all the 6 health blocks of Rajouri district.
237 cases were tested positive today while six people, including an Assistant Professor, have lost their lives due to Covid-19 today in the district.
Official sources said that 81 patients were tested negative today and have recovered. Out of 8076 active cases in the district, 4533 have recovered.
For aggressive tracing, testing of the suspected symptomatic patients and contacts of already active cases, the administration has declared 93 localities in the district, including in Rajouri town, for aggressive sampling.
All the OPD services in the Government Medical College & Associates Hospital (GMC&AH have been suspended for the last few days after a large number of symptomatic patients are under treatment in the isolation wards and doctors and health staff getting positive.

Presentl147 patients are under treatment in the isolation ward of GMC&AH and in CCCs while 14 are in isolation outside the district while 3248 patients are in home isolation.
Meanwhile, in order to ease the burden on the patients Rajesh Kumar Shavan, District Magistrate in an order issued today has fixed the rates of CT Scan tests and as per order shall remain applicable till further order.

Meanwhile the son of soil Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, Secretary Tribal Affairs & In-charge Covid-19 mitigation efforts in Jammu province has appealed to the people of his area (Kotranka)not to fall pre of misconceptions, unscientific advices and morphed WhatsApp forwards & rumors about vaccination.
“Rajouri district is suffering badly & is expected to suffer unimaginably in the days to come if covid norms were ignored and kindly don’t lead it to a catastrophe. Impose self lockdown and educate people around. From tomorrow onward rush to the nearby Medical unit to have the vaccine as soon as possible” said Dr Shahid.
