SRINAGAR JULY 04:-The Shah Re Khass Traders and Chambers have issued a strong condemnation regarding the recent decision to open a wine shop in the Batamaloo area of Srinagar.
The Shah Re Khass Traders and Chambers believe that the presence of wine shops in the Kashmir Valley undermines our commitment to improving the future for our youth and families.
It’s shocking that the government allows activities that could cause problems and lead to protests in this Muslim-majority valley. If Wine shops are banned in other parts of states like Bihar etc then why they are settling wine shops in valley this is a land of *Sufi saints and Reshi’s*. Wine should be completely banned here. The SKT&C has made an urgent demand for the complete and immediate shutdown of the wine shop. Allowing such businesses to operate freely in our valley threatens to lead to the deterioration of the positive strides we have been striving to make.
Shah-re-Khaas Traders earnestly implore the local administration and government officials to take swift action in response to concerns. Should our pleas go unheeded, we are prepared to mobilize and take to the streets in protest Spokesperson Raqib Altaf stated that We stand united in our commitment to safeguard our community’s future. Our collective voice will not be silenced, and we will advocate fiercely for a society that reflects our values and aspirations Spokesperson said and added.
