SRINAGAR NOV 26:-Shabnum Jan, Mahila Congress District President Shopian and a member of the All India Mahila Congress, has made a strong appeal for the enhancement of salaries for anganwadi workers and helpers in Jammu and Kashmir. This demand comes in light of the essential services provided by these workers, who play a vital role in the health and education of children in the region.

In her statement, Jan emphasized the significant contributions of anganwadi workers, who are often the backbone of community support systems. “Anganwadi workers and helpers are crucial in implementing government programs related to health, nutrition, and early childhood education. It is high time that their salaries reflect the importance of their work and the challenges they face daily,” she said.

Jan pointed out that despite their hard work, the compensation for these workers remains inadequate. Many of them work in difficult conditions and are dedicated to improving the lives of families in their communities. The call for a salary increase aims not only to recognize their efforts but also to encourage more individuals to join this vital workforce. “Investing in our anganwadi workers is an investment in our future. They deserve fair pay for their unwavering commitment to our children and families,” she added.

The Mahila Congress has been vocal about issues affecting women and children across the country, and this latest demand aligns with their mission to advocate for better working conditions and fair wages for those in essential roles. The organization plans to intensify efforts to raise awareness about this issue and seek support from local and national stakeholders.
