RAJOURI, AUGUST 16 :–Samagra Shiksha under the ambit of the School Education Department (SED) organised an interactive conference at SCERT Auditorium in Srinagar pertaining to the upcoming 3rd national conference of Chief Secretaries to be held in the months of October & November 2023 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister.
The Interactive conference was attended by all the stakeholders and was chaired by Principal Secretary, School Education Department (SED), Alok Kumar.
The interactive conference (workshop) was held for preparing state-specific. notes for the 3rd Chief Secretaries.
Conference & was attended by more than 650 stakeholders of SED, including teachers, students, student’s parents, NGOs, civil society organisations, JK BOSE, SCERT from various government & private Institutions.
Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj; Director SED Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain; Special Secretary SED, Naseer Wani; UNICEF National Head, Terry; Joint Director SED, Raouf Rehman; Deputy Director Planning, Bilal Rashid; CEO Srinagar, Shabir Hussain CEO Srinagar; other CEOs; DIET Principals, members from Pijam Foundation, Pratham etc attended the workshop.
More than 20 Private School heads, including that of GD Goenka, Oasis, Burnhall along with their students were part of one day conference.
The program started with the National anthem. Deep Raj briefed the participants about the context of the workshop.
It was informed by him during the 3rd Chief Secretary Conference, five sub-themes have been selected in promoting ease of living for the citizens and this meet is being conducted to obtain feedback on
different parameters like the ease in issuance/re-issuance/modification of Mark sheet, transfer/ migration certificate, the introduction of re-evaluation/improvement in examination through online mode, verification of certificate/mark sheet, the twinning of school for ease in admission, facilitation in registration of Aadhar, universalisation of use of digilocker, quality of infrastructure in schools, improving learning outcomes etc.
“The suggestions and feedback given by all the stakeholders will be summarised to prepare the State specific note on Promoting Ease of living in Schools through Good Governance and use of Technology,” said Deep Raj.
“Earlier template was shared with the IAS/State Officers and the Feedback notes received from them were uploaded on 5 August on the portal of C S Conference, developed by the GoI.
Deep Raj urged the participants to take active part in sharing their input about the reforms required to be taken by use of good governance and technology to make the access and quality of education better.
Principal Secretary SED, Alok Kumar while chairing the panel discussion interacted with the different stakeholders & answered to all quarries raised by the stakeholders.
Discussion on the uniform academic calendar, school complex system, smart classrooms, creation of district advisory council, competency-based questions, & aligning NEET and JEE as per NEP 2020 also came up during interactions.
On student’s quarries, Alok Kumar said: “Results of the class 10th & 12th stands uploaded on the website through Digi locker. The same certificate shall be used as Date of Birth Certificate, with due authentication. This year more than 1300 smart classrooms, 1000 ICT labs shall be established, besides Virtual Reality Labs, Astro physics labs, and other innovative initiatives,” said Alok Kumar.
Private Stakeholders from various Schools suggested ease in transfer certificates/migration certificates.
They were assured of improvement in the system in the coming months. It was also told that Department is contemplating online admissions, from the next academic session.
“Providing quality education to students paves ways to increase their learning outcomes further and bridge the social-gender gaps in school education. Improvement in the manpower, through capacity building and mentorship program, Ease in schooling shall be ensured” he said.
Alok Kumar asked the concerned stakeholders, to ensure equity and inclusion at all levels of school education with a focus on Children with Special needs.
He also stressed reducing the dropout rate to a minimal value among all grades, so that the SED may achieve the Sustainable Development Goal, by 2030 as per NEP-2020, which is the gateway for promoting Ease in Schooling.
Earlier to the Panel discussion, Bilal Rashid, Deputy Director Planning, briefed the participants regarding the workshop through PowerPoint presentation & circulated the templates among them, which were later collected for preparing the State/UT specific note.
