Jammu, Nov 26 (KNO): Jammu Muslim Front (JMF) on Thursday held a meeting of its office bearers at its office in Jammu wherein the present situation in the backdrop of the forthcoming DDC elections was discussed.
In the meeting, JMF chairman Shuja Zaffar as per a statement issued to the news aency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), appealed the general public to stay cautious and let no anti-national elements to achieve their nefarious designs.
“It has been found that some organizations are in a surcharged mood which may result in communal violence,” he said. He appealed Muslims in particular and followers of other religions in general to stay alert to save Jammu from any communal flare up.
Highlighting the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he said that the Prophet always stood for peace, harmony and brotherhood. He further stressed that the Muslims should follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad in letter and spirit.
During the meeting, Imran Qazi, President of the forum said that elections do take place every now and then, but people of Jammu should not forget age old brotherhood among all communities and this communal harmony should be maintained at every cost.
He also urged the UT administration and the police to play its role in a proactive manner so that the chances of any communal tension are thwarted beforehand. He further appealed that the administration should implement various by schemes which are meant for marginalized people and minorities, so that their energies are not deviated to anti-social activities—(KNO)
