BUDHAL MAY 11:–In Phalni Gram Panchayat of Block Budhal, Department of Command Area Development Jammu started the construction work of irrigation channels today which was inaugurated by Sarpanch Phalni Mohd Iqbal Thaker in presence of Sarpanch Kewal Farooq Inqlabi, Pervaiz Malik and Field Incharge Shakeel Ahmed. Giving the details of the work, Sarpanch Gram Pyt Kewal Farooq Inqlabi and Sarpanch Phalni Iqbal Thaker said that irrigation channels work has been started in the area at a cost of 17.50 Lakh Rupees, which will provide water to around 55 hectares of land in the area on time. Farooq Inqlabi said that in Block Budhal, works has been started on priority basis by Command Area Development, which will benefit the farmers here.
Both Sarpanches thanked Director General Command Area Jammu Sardar Rajinder Singh Tara, Project Officer Sardar M.P Singh, ASCO Umesh Gupta, SCAS Aftab Malik, Ashwani Gupta and Field Assistant Shakeel Ahmed for starting work of Irrigation channels in Phalni and Kewal on priority basis. They also appealed to the public to help the officers of the department so that the work can be completed in less time and the problem of water shortage in the area can be solved.
Farooq Inqlabi said that the farmers in Budhal area suffer a lot due to non-availability of water on time for which more irrigation channels need to be constructed.
Farmers including John Mohd, Layaqat Ali, Iqbal Khokher, Manir Hussain were also present on the occasion.
