Kishtwar, June 22: Former Minister and Vice President, Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Ghulam Mohammed Saroori visited Thathri and Sarthal areas of Inderwal assembly constituency of the hilly districts.
Saroori, according to the press statement, during his visit hold interaction with the residents and listen to their grievances while assuring them full support.
Most of the people were concerned about water supply schemes by PHE departments which need to be completed timely under Jal Jeevan in Block Drabshalla and Thathri as the administration earlier sets target for completion in these block till July 2020 as such only 5% work has been completed till date.
“The remote areas have been facing shortage of drinking water. The authorities should depute field staff regularly to Drabshalla and Thathri ensuring implementation of schemes and ensure that the supply is made to the poor people,” Saroori demanded and said that the Jal Jeevan Mission is aimed at providing 100 per cent tap water to all households, and it will also involve convergence of schemes to achieve its objectives of sustainable water supply management across the district.
Saroori also demanded regularization of more than one lakh daily wagers, and casual labourers in all the government departments. “The Government should regularize their services because majority of them have completed more than 7 years of services,” Saroori said.
He demanded that minimum wage act should be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir so that these casual labourers and daily wagers should get the honorable wages.
Meanwhile, Saroori also informed people about deadly virus covid-19 and precaution which needs to be taken by the people. Interacting with the people, he informed them that they should wear face masks, and clean their hands repeatedly with water and soap.
Furthermore Saroori also visited many houses in the areas to offer condolences to the bereaved families in the areas who passed away recently.
