Sanjeev Verma CS reviewed progress of developmental works, appreciates Rajouri Administration

:–Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner Secretary (CS) Forest, Ecology & Environment (FE&E) Government of UT of J&K (who is also incharge of Rajouri district) on Tuesday here at Rajouri reviewed the progress made on the development front and centrally/UT sponsored schemes.

Rajesh K Shavan, DDC gave a detailed power point presentation about the sector-wise progress of major projects and key flagship schemes of different sectors. Issues about the execution of works on the projects were also discussed threadbare in the meeting.
Sanjeev Verma was informed that under District Capex Budget Rs 919.59 crores have been approved for the Financial Year (FY) 2021-22 while an amount of Rs 253.35 crores have been released and an expenditure of Rs 59.96 crores has been incurred so far.
In PWD(R&B) sector, it was informed that out of 6 schemes under CRF including 3 roads and 3 bridges, the work on 2 schemes is complete while 4 are under progress.
Out of 52 schemes approved under NABARD, 9 are complete while 24 are in progress and there are 19 schemes on which the work has not been started yet.
Under IPDS, PMDP Urban, DDUGJY and PMDP Rural under PDD sector it was informed that out of 91 schemes targeted for the FY 2021-22, the work on 16 schemes is complete while the rest are in different phases of execution.
Under MGNREGA, it was informed that out of 4361 works taken, 342 have been completed.
Labour department has registered 12115 workers under JKBOCW and 375 beneficiaries have been covered under this scheme and an amount of Rs 49.20 lacs has been provided to them as financial assistance.
All eligible beneficiaries of the 18-44 years of age have been given the first dose while 57% beneficiaries have been covered under the second dose of Covid vaccination drive.
Under SEHAT scheme, the meeting was told that out of 637312 beneficiaries of the district, 355219 have been registered while 346703 golden cards have been issued to the beneficiaries.
Out of200 works were taken up in B2V1 and B2V2 ,142 stands completed while out of 955 works identified during B2V3 ,921 have been tendered and 361 allotted while the work on 32 is complete.
Under PMAY-G, 30661 houses are to be targeted for construction out of which 9489 houses have been completed while under PMAY-U, out of 1530 houses, the work on 437 is complete.
Under Jal Jeevan Mission, 293 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 1550.52 crores have been approved and 380 villages are to be covered.
Sanjeev Verma also reviewed the progress of all other departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, FCS&CA, Social Welfare, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Employment Department, and others under various schemes and asked the officers to lay special focus on improving the prompt service delivery mechanism.
He asked the Executing Agencies to ensure that the works taken up in the current financial year are completed within the set deadlines.
The Secretary asked the concerned officer from the RDD to ensure that all the houses sanctioned under PMAY-G are completed by the end of March 2022 and ensure timely payments of PMAY-G instalments to the beneficiaries so that they don’t suffer.
Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner/Secretary (CS) directed for discouraging use of single-use plastic & creating awareness among the common masses about the harmful effects of plastic on health and environment and to go for eco-friendly alternatives of polythene.
“To promote self-employment generation activities in the district, make dedicated efforts to generate more employment avenues to help the unemployed youth by providing them the necessary platforms to raise their socio-economic status and provide with the Avenues of source of income,” he asked the concerned officers/officials.
Sanjeev Verma instructed officials of Labour Department to generate massive awareness among the public to avail benefits of various welfare schemes of the department.
“Ensure enrollment of the dropouts in schools & aware them/their parents about the benefits of the education. Take concrete measure to enhance the female literacy” asked CS to CEO/concerned officers/officials
“Ensure that all the left out beneficiaries are covered under SEHAT scheme within the shortest possible time & enhance the COVID testing rate” said CS.
Sanjeev Verma also directed the concerned to generate massive awareness among the public about Prime Minister Social Security schemes so that they can avail themselves of benefits of the same.
He has also issued instructions for the coverage of all eligible beneficiaries for benefits under the Forest Right Act.
He appreciated the efforts and intervention of District Administration in a prompt public delivery system.
