JAMMU MAY 30:-In a strongly worded press statement issued today, Safeer Choudhary, a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), condemned the recent First Information Report (FIR) lodged against MLA Doda Mehraj Malik. Choudhary criticized the apparent inaction by the authorities on serious allegations surrounding doctors at the Government Medical College (GMC) in Doda, emphasizing the urgent need for transparency and accountability in the healthcare system.

Safeer Choudhary expressed unwavering support for Malik, who has bravely brought to light the malpractices occurring within the healthcare system, particularly those adversely affecting the impoverished residents of the Chenab Valley Malik’s efforts to address systemic issues, including the alleged manipulation of patient referrals, have drawn significant public attention and backlash from vested interests.

In his statement, Safeer Choudhary highlighted troubling practices reported at GMC Doda, where under privileged patients are frequently redirected to private medical facilities for essential surgeries and diagnostic tests instead of receiving care within the government-run institution. This alarming trend, as Safeer Choudhary noted, indicates a deeply entrenched nexus between certain medical professionals and private healthcare providers, undermining the integrity and accessibility of the public healthcare system.

“The presence of medical mafias in Jammu and Kashmir is undeniable, yet the question remains – who will challenge their dominance? If Mehraj Malik is courageously confronting these deep-rooted issues, then why is the government and administration failing to respond decisively?” Choudhary questioned, calling for immediate governmental intervention.

He warned that if the government does not take tangible actions to address the malpractice and protect the rights of vulnerable citizens, it will face significant consequences from the public. “We will not tolerate such collusion and exploitation anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. The government must act to suspend the doctors implicated in these wrongdoings and restore public trust in our healthcare system,” Choudhary stated emphatically.

The Aam Aadmi Party remains steadfast in its commitment to advocating for the rights of marginalized communities and ensuring accountability within the healthcare system. Choudhary affirmed that AAP’s mission is to challenge corruption and malpractice, safeguarding the welfare of the people and ensuring that everyone has access to essential health services.
