POONCH AUGUST 26:–In an electrifying showdown, the Poonch Roaring Lions triumphed over the Poonch Stallions by 19 runs in Qualifier 2 of the Poonch Premier League (PPL) 4th Edition.
Batting first, the Roaring Lions put together a respectable total of 164 runs, concluding their innings at 8 wickets down in the full 20 overs.
Rehan Aslam emerged as the star of the match, scoring an explosive 48 runs off just 29 balls while also contributing significantly with the ball, claiming 2 wickets for only 20 runs in his 4-over spell. His all-round performance played a crucial role in leading his team to victory.
Chasing 164, the Poonch Stallions faced a formidable challenge and ended their innings at 144 runs for 9 wickets, falling short of the target despite a valiant effort.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Mr. Qadir Ur Rehman, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Poonch. In a gesture of appreciation, Mr. Pervaiz Malik, Head of Management for PPL 4th Edition and Chairman of the Rahul Dravid Cricket Club Poonch, along with the management team, presented Mr. Rehman with a shawl and bouquet of flowers, thanking him for honoring the event with his presence.
During the ceremony, Mr. Rehman distributed prizes to the outstanding members of PPL, including scorers and umpires, highlighting their contributions to the successful organization of this significant cricketing event. He expressed his gratitude to the management of PPL for their dedication and effort in hosting such a large-scale tournament in Poonch.
