POONCH AUGUST 09:–Rahul Dravid Cricket Club (RDCC) recently organized an exhilarating cricket tournament to mark the 78th Independence Day with a powerful message of Swachhata Pakhwada and Say No to Drugs, Yes to Sports. The event, sponsored by Mr. Tariq Hussain (PA to CEO) in collaboration with Mr. Pervaiz Malik Afridi, witnessed the participation of two spirited teams, RDCC A and RDCC B, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship on the field. JK Sports Council and DYSSO provided full support for conducting this one day cricket match at Sports Stadium Poonch.
In the U14 category, RDCC A, led by the skilled Shayan Ali Ansari, emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter against RDCC B. The match was a display of sheer determination and prowess, with Danish being honored as the Man of the Match for his exceptional performance. Aahil Tahir’s all-round display earned him the title of Best All-rounder, while the talented Atif was recognized as the Emerging Player for his outstanding potential.
In the U19 division, RDCC B put up a stellar performance to claim victory against RDCC A. Imran showcased his batting prowess to be named the Best Batsman of the match, with Ahsan delivering a match-winning performance to earn the title of Man of the Match. Altaf’s impressive bowling skills did not go unnoticed as he was hailed as the Best Bowler for his remarkable contribution to the game.
Throughout the tournament, the teams paid tribute to the valiant Martyr who sacrified their life for India’s independence, embodying the spirit of patriotism and dedication. The event was a testimony to the power of sports in promoting unity, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle among the youth.
RDCC, along with its dedicated coaches Parvaiz Malik Afridi (Head Coach), Syed Talat Waseem and Er. Kamran Qadri, continues to nurture young talents and inspire the community through sports. The successful tournament not only celebrated the essence of Independence Day but also highlighted the importance of cleanliness, drug-free living, and the transformative role of sports in shaping a brighter future.
Guest of honor for the price distribution were Mr. Nirdosh Kumar (Manager Sports Stadium Poonch), Mr. Mustaq Ahmed (Manager Indoor Stadium Poonch), and Mr. Zakir Hussain Shah (Clerk Sports Stadium Poonch). Along with these dignitaries Mr. Parvaiz Malik Afridi (Head Coach), Mr. Syed Talat Waseem and Er. Kamran Qadri were available.
