Rana Meets Scores of Public Delegations at Nawa-i-Subh, Srinagar

SRINAGAR JAN, 07:-Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today held an extensive public outreach programme at Nawa-i-Subh, Srinagar, where he met scores of public delegations representing different districts and sectors of the Kashmir Valley.

The delegations apprised the Minister of a wide range of civic, developmental and service-related issues requiring immediate attention.

Prominent among the issues raised were concerns related to the availability of safe and clean drinking water across several areas.

The delegations sought desiltation of canals at Khrew, upgradation and strengthening of water supply schemes in Safapora and Wakura areas of Ganderbal district, and resolution of drinking water supply issues in Beerwah and Budgam constituencies.

The Minister was informed about operational bottlenecks and infrastructure gaps affecting water delivery in these regions.

Employees’ representatives also brought to the fore matters concerning Hospital Development Fund (HDF) employees, highlighting issues related to regularisation of services and enhancement of wages.

The Minister was urged to intervene to ensure fair and timely redressal of their longstanding demands.

Delegations from the Forest sector raised issues pertaining to the provision of timber in Ganderbal Division, payment of pending wages to daily wagers, and clearance of long-pending cases under SRO-43 of the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Development Corporation.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to the concerns and sought detailed inputs from the concerned officers present.
Taking serious note of the grievances, the Minister issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments and officers for immediate resolution of several issues.

He assured the delegations that all remaining matters would be taken up on priority, with a focus on time-bound and effective implementation, emphasizing that public welfare and service delivery remain the top priorities of the government.

Office bearers of Nawa-i-Subh, including Showkat Mir, Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Kashmir; Syed Touqir, Provincial Secretary; and Agha Mehmood, Senior National Leader, along with other senior functionaries of the Kashmir Division, were present on the occasion.
