Ramkund Gunners Appreciate Support Our Heroes for Humanitarian Assistance to Veterans and Civilians

MENDHAR JAN, 12:-Ramkund Gunners, under the aegis of Ace of Spade Gunners, conveys its sincere appreciation to Support Our Heroes (SOH), a Delhi-based social organisation, for its steadfast commitment towards supporting veterans and civilians in need. As part of the Indian Army’s outreach programme conducted on the occasion of the 10th Veterans Day, SOH undertook meaningful initiatives aimed at restoring dignity, self-reliance, and stability among veterans. In this outreach, one veteran was empowered through the provision of an E-rickshaw on 11 January, enabling him to earn a sustainable livelihood and support his family independently. In addition, SOH extended financial assistance amounting to ₹91,000 to another veteran whose residence was partially damaged during the recent floods in Jammu & Kashmir, thereby assisting him in initiating repairs and recovering from the losses incurred due to the natural calamity.

On the occasion of Poonch Link-Up Day 2025, Support Our Heroes undertook another significant humanitarian initiative by extending financial assistance totalling ₹4,70,000. As part of this effort, 13 civilians were honoured with financial assistance of ₹10,000 each in recognition of their resilience and courage in the face of adversity. Further, special financial support was provided to four veterans who suffered due to Operation SINDOOR and the impact of cross-border firing and shelling in the Poonch sector. Of these, two veterans received ₹1,00,000 each, while two others were provided ₹70,000 each, offering critical relief to those affected by operational exigencies and hostile actions.

Established in 2017, Support Our Heroes (SOH) has been consistently working across the country for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families, with particular emphasis on cases that fall outside existing welfare mechanisms or face delays due to procedural constraints. Through its sustained humanitarian efforts, transparent functioning, and people-centric approach, the organisation has earned widespread recognition and appreciation from the Hon’ble President of India, various Governors and Chief Ministers, several wings of the Ministry of Defence, as well as eminent personalities from the Indian film industry. The continued efforts of Support Our Heroes reflect a deep-rooted commitment to honouring the sacrifices of veterans and ensuring that no soldier or family in distress is left unsupported.
