RAJOURI, JANUARY 30 :–In continuation to its ongoing eviction drive against the alleged encroached land, the Rajouri district Administration of Monday retrieved 3635 kanal and 10 marlas from various tehsils across the district.
The J&K government in a circular issued in the second week of January 2023 directed all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure 100% removal of encroachment from State land including, Kahcharai and Roshni, before January 31.
The government is likely to extend the date because in most of the districts across the Jammu Division, the eviction process is still in progress.
According to official data, 281655 kanals & 14 marlas State land (including Kahcharai & Roshni) encroached in all the tehsils of Rajouri district.
Till Sunday, the various teams of police and revenue officers/officials have retrieved 275867 kanals and 12 marlas of state land from Rajouri, Darhal, Thanamandi, Nowshera, Qila Darhal, Sunderbani, Siot, Kalakote, Terayth, Beripatan, Manjakote, Moughla, and Khawas tehsils.
Till Sunday Rajouri District Administration under its tough instance against the land encroachers has evicted 275867 kanals and 12 marlas of land out of total encroached land measuring 281655 kanals & 14 marlas.
On Monday, under the overall supervision of Vikas Kunda, Deputy Commissioner, the Administration under its mission mode to evict the illegal occupants retrieved 3635 kanal 10 marlas State/ Kahcharie and Roshni land in the district.
The Anti encroachment drives are being carried out across different Tehsils of the District as per the eviction plan.
The DC, Vikas Kundal has exhorted the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) and Tehsildars to intensify the eviction and demolition drive in collaboration with police and other concerned in the coming days so that the given target is achieved.
