RAJOURI APRIL 08:-In a significant step towards curbing the menace of drug trafficking, Rajouri Police apprehended two individuals and seized 88 grams of charas-like narcotic substance during a routine patrol near Mehra Morh, Khandli.
According to police sources, on April 7, a team from Police Station Rajouri was conducting routine patrol duties when they intercepted a suspicious scooty without a number plate, traveling from Kotdhara towards Rajouri. Two individuals were riding the vehicle.
Upon personal search, the police recovered 88 grams of charas-like substance from their possession. The accused were immediately taken into custody.
The duo has been identified as: Mohd Asif, son of Mohd Farooq, resident of Ward No. 02, Bhella, Rajouri (driver). and Sameena Jameel Sheikh alias Simmi, daughter of Jameel Sheikh, resident of Malik Market, Rajouri.
A case under FIR No. 182/2025 has been registered at Police Station Rajouri under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The contraband has been seized and both accused have been formally arrested.
Police officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to identify possible links in the wider drug network, including both supply and distribution chains.
