The land was retrieved in Kalal Kas block of Kandi Range of Rajouri Forest Division. Assistant Director Forest Protection Force, Masood Ahmed also warned the encroachers for strict legal action if they try to rebuild the houses on the retrieved forest land in the future.
The encroachers have been identified as Khan Mohd s/o Abdul Aziz Bakarwal and Abdul Rashid s/o Mohd Yaqoob both residents of Bindi village.
Assistant Director Masood Ahmed said: “Notices had earlier been sent to those doing illegal construction on forest land asking them to demolish their illegal constructions on their own. But despite notices served to the encroachers, they did not respond and the concerned departments on Saturday demolished the construction and also retrieved illegally encroached land”.
By conducting a special operation on Saturday with the help of police, both the illegal structures were demolished and hundreds of kanals of land which was illegally occupied by these people was also recovered,” said Assistant Director FPF.
