RAJOURI, OCT 08: To enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the implementation of MGNREGA, the District Administration Rajouri led by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today organised a Capacity Building Workshop on key IT-based initiatives including Yuktdhara (GIS-based planning), NMMS eKYC for real-time attendance and eMB (electronic Measurement Book) for digital measurement and monitoring of works.

The workshop, organised by the Rural Development Department (RDD) Rajouri, aimed to equip field-level staff and Panchayat functionaries with the technical know-how required to effectively utilise modern digital tools for better planning, execution and monitoring of MGNREGA projects.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the integration of technology in rural development is essential for ensuring need-based and sustainable planning. He emphasized the importance of the Yuktdhara platform, which facilitates scientific and resource-aligned planning at the Gram Panchayat level, thereby promoting judicious utilisation of available resources.

The DC also shed light on the National Mobile Monitoring System (NMMS), particularly its eKYC-enabled attendance feature, which promotes real-time monitoring and enhances transparency in recording worker attendance. He further stressed the importance of using eMB to ensure digital measurement of works and timely updating of progress on the ground.

“Ground-level functionaries are the cornerstone of the MGNREGA framework. By empowering them with digital tools and updated knowledge, we are ensuring faster, transparent and accountable implementation of rural development works,” the Deputy Commissioner said.

The workshop included practical demonstrations on the use of Yuktdhara, NMMS and eMB, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience with these systems.

Officers from the Rural Development Department, Panchayat Secretaries, Technical Assistants and field staff attended the training session and actively participated in the interactive discussions.
