Rajouri, March 06:–TO Inhabitants of the Rajouri district have taken a sigh of relief after District Administration’s decision to fix the rates of minor minerals at source and processed material.
The people have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner and District Mineral Officer (DMO), Geology & Mining Department for strict compliance of the order to provide much-needed relief to them.
There was large-scale resentment among the gullible people who were being duped by the owners of stone crushers as they used to charge exorbitantly for processed construction material.
“The decision of the administration for fixing the rates of minor minerals at source and processed material at stone crushers is a welcome step as the stone crusher operators had been overcharging. The rates approved by the DC should be implemented strictly so that the people may not suffer anymore,” said Shafqat Wani, President Pirpanjal Contractor Association.
In this regard DMO, Geology & Mining Department has issued a public notice carrying the rates of minor minerals approved by Vikas Kundal, Deputy Commissioner vide his office order No.DCR/2021-22/ACCTT/788-98.
The DMO has also released helpline numbers, including of SSP, Additional DCs (Rajouri HQ, Sunderbani, Kalakot, Nowshera, Kotranka, Additional SPs (HQ Rajouri, Nowshera), SDM, Thanamandi, DMO, and ARTO Rajouri, in case of overcharging by the stone crushers & other concerned.
The people have urged the administration to ensure regular inspections of these stone crushers to have strict compliance of rate lists issued by DMO.
The rates fixed for per cubic feet (including loading charges & excluding GST & transportation) nallah muck (RBM) Rs 6; nallah boulder Rs 5; nallah sand Rs 5; crushing stone Rs 14; ordinary clay Rs 4.
The rate fixed for the finished goods includes crushed bajri (10mm-20mm) Rs17; crushed bajri (40mm) Rs 15; crushed bajri (65mm) Rs 16; crusher (washed)sand Rs 12, and crusher dust Rs 9.
