Quami Bhavna initiative: DC Rajouri visits Palma Army Campus

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 04: As part of the Quami Bhavana initiative and in continuation of the go green drive, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan visited Army Campus Palma.

Quami Bhavna is a unique initiative of the District Administration wherein the District Magistrate visits the remote locations and interacts with jawans, officers and stays with them to discuss the peace and development interventions.

Continuing this initiative, the Deputy Commissioner spent one night with the army Jawans and officers at Army Campus Palma and discussed varied issues.

In his address, the officer appreciated the army for their concern to save and increase the precious tree wealth in the district and urged upon them to continue such efforts for the larger public interest.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the initiative will increase the forest cover of the district and will also prove helpful in mitigating the ill effects of climate change and global warming.

He emphasized the need of realizing the importance of respecting and protecting our tree’s wealth and the rich flora for our future generations.

The Deputy Commissioner said that deforestation is a worrying concern and the need of an hour is to bring more and more people together to grow and save forests for our present and future generations.

He also appreciated the role of the Army in remaining shoulder to shoulder with the District Administration for the peace and development of the region. He thanked the GOC, Major General, Jatindra and his team for all necessary backup in this Quami Bhavna initiative and hoped that it will continue further in near future for the larger good of everyone.

About 1000 plants of different species are intended to be planted in the Campus and surrounding area.

The DC appealed every citizen to contribute positively for turning Rajouri as green district in terms of forest cover.

The Deputy Commissioner lauded the army and paramilitary forces for their dedicated efforts towards maintaining security and peace in the district and said that our security forces have always been at the forefront of ensuring the safety and welfare of mankind and every Indian should feel pride in the army.

He said that the District Administration will continue such initiatives to strengthen the civil-military liaison for the peace and overall development of the district.

It is pertinent to mention here that so far the District Collector has visited 54 RR Lam, 72 CRPF Battalion Sunderbani and Bhadoon unit and stayed in the units.
