RAJOURI, MAY 02:-‘Terror once again gripped the Dhangri village and adjoining areas of the Rajouri district after villagers spotted suspicious movement of 2-3 persons at about midnight on May 1 & 2 in Saranoo and Dhangri villages.
It is pertinent to mention here that on January 1 & 2 seven people, including two minors were killed by the terrorists in a cowardly terror attack and to date the perpetrators are beyond the reach of Security Forces.
“The matter about the suspicious movement of three persons on the intervening night of May 1 & 2 was brought to the notice of District Administration & senior police officers in the morning today. An intensive search was conducted by the SFs throughout the day, but without any success,” said, Sarpanch Dheeraj Sharma.
“The inhabitants of Dhangri are already under the trauma of the January massacre and the suspicious movement in the village has added more fear among them” he added.
As the perpetrators of Dhangri are still at large, the inhabitants are apprehending another terror attack. We are not satisfied with the security already provided to us by the administration. Few marriages are scheduled during the next few days & we decided to provide security to them at our own” said Sarpanch.
Dheeraj further said that after the marriages are over we decided to hold meeting of Sarpanches of the areas to discuss our burning demands, including no action against those who had provided food, shelter & logistic support to Dhangri perpetrators.
“Either administration should increase the number of security personnel deployed at Dhangri and in adjoining areas or provide us automatic guns (AK 47 rifles) to face threats from the terrorists as we have sufficient number of ex-servicemen and trained youths,” said Sarpanch.
