Prisoner serving sentence attempts suicide in Poonch district Jail.

RAJOURI NOV 08:-Quick and prompt action by the officers posted in District jail Poonch averted a tragic incident when reportedly a prisoner serving jail term attempted suicide inside the jail.
Sources said the inmate identified as Joginder Singh alias Jogdh Singh s/o Karan Singh a resident of Jammu, attempted suicide this evening and the incident sent shockwaves through the jail premises.
Sources said that Joginder Singh attempted to end his life due to undisclosed circumstances and the alert officers rescued him to Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital where doctors provided him immediate treatment and saved his life.
Health officials at District Hospital have also confirmed the incident and said that the condition of Joginder Singh is stable.
The doctor said that cut marks were found on the hand and neck of Joginder Singh and timely action by the officers present in the jail has saved his life.
The police are yet to disclose the reason behind this esteem step by Joginder Singh, however the police have started a thorough investigation into the incident and have taken immediate measures to prevent occurrence of such an incident in the future.
