RAJOURI, JULY 30:—Two days Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 (ABSS-2023) concluded on Sunday at ITPO New Delhi amid the celebration of the 3rd Anniversary of National Education Policy, (NEP) 2020.
The event started with the inaugural address by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi showcasing the achievement made by India in the implementation of NEP 2020 in the last 3 years and the way forward.
On the occasion, the first installment of funds for the development of PM SHRI (Prime Minister School for Rising India) Scheme was also released by the Prime Minister.
Principal Secretary, School Education Department (SED) J&K, Alok Kumar; Director, SCERT J&K, Prof. Parikshat Manhas; Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj; Director SED Jammu, Ashok Sharma; Director RUSA, Ashok Bhagat; Deputy Director Samagra (Nodal Officer, ABSS, J&K), Bilal Rashid; along with other delegates attended the event.
J&K School Education Department along with other States & UTs exhibited the stupendous achievements and initiatives it has taken in two years for the implementation of NEP-2020 through a stall at the ITPO Exhibition ground.
“J&K School Education Department has been at the forefront in implementing NEP by bringing significant changes in the assessment system from ROTE learning to competency-based learning. SED also shifted the method of teaching in class room to learn from surroundings to make it joyful, so as to provide holistic and lifelong learning opportunities to students,” said Alok Kumar.
“Effective implementation of the NEP-2020 will ensure sustained training of students as global citizens with 21st Century skills and create a vibrant, innovative, practical and vocational skill set and research-oriented, learner-centric education system in our country” he reiterated.
Alok Kumar highlighted that focus is being laid on the Foundational Stage (ECCE), under which almost 2000 Kindergartens have been set up and more than 3000 are in process of establishment, where child-friendly furniture/Indoor & outdoor play material is being provided.
“In the line with the NEP-2020, Digital learning has been promoted for which more than 1000 ICT labs and 1700 Smart Classrooms are in process of the establishment to provide the platform to the students to compete with the rest parts of the country,” said Alok Kumar.
He highlighted the best practices, like the Implementation of JK Attendance App (ensuring the regularity & punctuality of teachers); SAMIKSHA App (platform for ranking of the schools on the basis of the feedback of the Students about their teachers & schools); STEER Mentorship Program for Students; Coding program; & DIKSHA Platform, etc will help to bridge out the gaps in learning outcomes.
“Making school complexes for optimum utilization of available resources, Uniform academic calendar to ease out the Students’ issues, Online Transfer of teachers, etc are the remarkable steps taken by the School Education Department, J&K,” he added.
Project Director, Deep Raj Project Director (State Nodal Officer PM SHRI Scheme), informed that 233 Schools have been selected under Phase 1st of PM SHRI, for which Rs. 116.43 Crore stand approved by the Ministry recently.
“Multidisciplinary approaches shall be made to make PM SHRI Schools, the exemplar Schools in J&K. Students shall get all type of opportunities, to nurture their innovative and IT Skills, besides they shall be made aware of Green Schools concept to save the Environment as well, he informed,” he added.
A manual illustrating the best practices of JK SED was also released at the J&K Stall (Exhibition Hall) by the Principal Secretary, Alok Kumar, and later was presented to the Union Minister of Education, GoI & other stakeholders.
Ajeet Sharma, Coordinator, Ajeet Sharma, Fayaz Ahmed, Sohail Raja, Dr. Rabia Mughal; Dr. Alka Sharma, Vivek Jandial; Dr. Arif Jan, Tariq Khan, Javaid Ahmed, Suheel Sheikh was the core team that exhibited the initiatives of J&K and also attended thematic sessions on different topics
