Principal GMC Rajouri initiate inquiry after journalist alleges misbehave by doctor. Allegations against doctor are false & cooked for not providing VVIP treatment: MFF;

MFF Demands Action Should be taken against such miscreants who are misleading the public against the Noble Profession.

RAJOURI, JUNE 06Following an alleged scuffle between doctors and a journalist in the emergency of Government Medical College Rajouri on June 3, Principal GMC, (Dr.) A.S. Bhatia has constituted a 5-member committee to look into the matter & to submit a factual report within five days.

The committee constituted includes Associate Professors & Heads of Medicine & Community Medicine, Dr. Jamil-Ul-Hussain & Dr. Syed Shuja Akhtar Qadri respectively; AD Food & Civil Supplies, Arif Lone & two senior journalists of Press club Rajouri namely Shakti Sharma & Arif Qureshi.

In this connection, a deputation of Press Club Rajouri was met with the GMC Principal and narrated the whole incident that occurred on June 3 when a doctor allegedly misbehaved with a journalist Iftkar Chowdhary who had gone for the treatment of his aged mother.

The incident created resentment among the journalist fraternity & the Principal assured full cooperation in resolving the issue & fair inquiry.

Meanwhile, Medical Faculty Forum (MMF) GMC & AH Medical faculty forum GMC & AH, Rajouri in a statement has resented the incident of harassment of a reputed surgeon by a local journalist in the hospital and termed the incident deeply disheartening and demoralizing.
Quoting the recent incidence of defamation of a prominent surgeon of GMC on various social media platforms by a local journalist in which he alleged misconduct and rude behaviour being done to him.

Condemning the incident, MFF under the leadership of President (Dr. Jamil- ul- hussain) met Principal GMC Rajouri and presented to him the factual narrative of incident along with CCTV proof and various witnesses that were present at the time of the alleged scuffle.

The MFF strongly condemned the incident and appraised the Principal that all the charges made against the doctor by the journalist are false and cooked up just to create an undue false wave of resentment and defamation against the doctor for not providing him VVIP treatment.

MFF informed Principal GMC Rajouri that such incidents of trespassing and misbehaviour are on the rise & few people of a particular profession are taking undue advantage of their responsible job profile and are using their liberty in depicting false reality to the masses.

MFF has demanded action against such miscreants who are misleading the public and generating public resentment and shattering their faith in the noble profession.

The doctor in question has recently done an outstanding job in saving precious lives of recent terror attack victims.

MFF appealed to District Administration to declare hospitals as protected zones and formulate necessary protocols to protect the doctors and health care professionals while treating the patients.
