NAGROTA APRIL 26:–For the first time in the last 33 years, a police public meeting was organized in Nagrota refugee camp, in which many high-ranking police officers and officials actively participated in addition to local people here today
During this evening meeting, the theme of drug addiction eradication was highlighted in order to bring public awareness. Apart from SDPO Nagrota, SHO Nagrota and SP Jammu while addressing the meeting appealed to the people to give their full support to end drug addiction.
Meanwhile, while talking to the public in the face-to-face meeting, SDPO Nigrota also referred to the police contacts to resolve the public complaints and assured that the police is working in good faith and working day and night to resolve all the problems of the people.
Police are working and ready to render their services at any time, says SDPO Nagrota while sharing his knowledge to make the awareness among the people.
. Although the local people are working in the area illegally, the activities are being carried out in illegal ways and there are incidents of animal trafficking and theft at night. People have also alleged that there have been many incidents of theft in the area, but the police have not yet done so and have proved completely unsuccessful in arresting the criminals.
Referring to it, people have alleged that there have been several incidents of theft by breaking the shutters of many shops in Jagti Nagrota recently, but till now no clue about these incidents has come to the hands of the police.
Kashmiri refugees have also alleged that their school going children are being charged arbitrary fare which is a cause for concern and appealed to the police department to intervene in this regard. People believe that Jagti Nagrota and Nagrota area is located on the national highway, where it cannot be denied that there is a trade of narcotic drugs apart from the drug business, and many young people have fallen victim to addiction so far. They have further alleged that in the area the movement of vehicles without plate numbers and unknown people throughout the night is a matter of concern, which is less to be condemned.
However, the police has appealed to all parents to pay attention to the growing habits of their children by paying attention to the future of their children and the first duty of parents is to prevent wrong association in children, so before bringing awareness to the youth, parents should first there is a dire need to bring awareness
