Police destroy poppy cultivation in Langate.

LANGATE,MAY,23:-‘Handwara police in a special drive against narcotic drugs on Monday destroyed poppy cultivation on 1 kanal of land at Langate area of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official told that Police in presence of the Excise team from North Kashmir and magistrate of Langate destroyed poppy cultivation in Langate Handwara.

He said that information was repeatedly coming from the residents about illegal cultivation of poppy in the said area.

In this regard,on the directions of Superintendent Of Police Handwara Dr Sheema Nabi Qasba,a police party of police post Langate headed by the DO.PP Langate Rashid Ah Khan along with revenue officials reached to the spot and destroyed the illegally cultivated poppy on a field measuring about 1 kanal of land at different Spots of agricultural land in the area.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt strictly under law.People healed the efforts of SP Handwara and his Team against illegal drugs.
